MONROE IN HER PINK CADILLAC
Some dreams take a generation to come full circle.
Monroe’s grandmother was obsessed with Hollywood.
The movies. The glamour. The pin-ups. The impossible hair. And, of course, Marilyn Monroe — which is how her granddaughter ended up with a name that came with slightly unreasonable expectations.
Grandma wanted to be an actress.
Instead, life gave her a husband, children, a home, and approximately a million things to do that had absolutely nothing to do with Hollywood.
The dream stayed.
So did the pink Cadillac.
When she passed away, Monroe inherited the car — and decided there was really only one appropriate thing to do with it.
Drive it to Los Angeles.
She packed her things, got behind the wheel and headed west.
Not to become an actress.
Not to become famous.
Not even to find herself. She knew where she was.
She just figured that after all these years, someone needed to get Grandma’s Cadillac to Hollywood.
And judging by the view?
Grandma would’ve been unbearable about it.
